Larry is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the Chicago and San Francisco-based private equity firm, Chicago Pacific Founders, a leader in providing value-added capital to senior living, health care services and related health care technology companies.

He previously co-founded Washington, DC-based ADVI, a health care strategy and reimbursement advisory firm that serves many of the largest and most innovative pharma, life science, digital health and health care services organizations.

Previously, he served in a number of senior leadership positions including Operating Partner at Kleiner Perkin, Global Managing Partner for Accenture’s Health Care Vertical, Health Practice Leader at Towers Perrin and in senior executive roles at Optum and Kaiser Permanente.

Larry contributes significant time catalyzing and supporting health care innovation initiatives globally:

  • Chairman of the Board of the firm he founded, Healthspottr, which gathers some of the most innovative minds in health tech to drive beneficial change in the industry.
  • Co-founded the Employer Health Innovation Roundtable (EHIR), a coalition of the largest and most progressive employers, collectively representing over 6M lives. Their mission is to accelerate the adoption of innovation for the sake of improving employee health, wellness and productivity.
  • Chairman for the UCSF Rosenman Institute, a health technology and life science initiative at the University of California, San Francisco.
  • Member of the Board of Directors for the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS), a not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving health care in quality, safety, cost-effectiveness and access through the best use of information technology and management systems.

Larry earned his MBA in Finance from the UCLA Anderson School of Management after completing his undergraduate studies in Finance and Economics at Stanford University.

Larry sits on the boards of several health technology and health services companies, including Allymar, BioIntellisense, IrisVision, Nevada Behavoral Health, P3, Recovery Ways, and WellBe.

He resides in Atherton, California with his wife Bren.

Mulani was a member of the Accenture Global Leadership team and founded Accenture Applied Intelligence, a practice that combines AI with industry expertise and analytics to help clients address their most complex business challenges. While at Accenture, he led the Global Supply Chain practice and various business units in North America. Narendra retired from Accenture in 2019 and has been investing in and advising AI-based startups while investing his time in social causes he is passionate about.

Dean Nelson joined Sageview Capital in 2014 as a Senior Partner based in Greenwich. In his role, Dean is active in sourcing and serving as the senior representative of Sageview on deals. He also works with management teams across Sageview’s portfolio on operational opportunities.

Prior to joining Sageview, Dean was at KKR from 2000-2013, where he founded and led KKR Capstone, an operating team focused on improving performance in KKR’s portfolio companies. In addition to leading KKR Capstone, Dean served as CEO and President of Primedia and as Head of Worldwide Operations and Technology at First Data. He also served on KKR’s Portfolio Committee. In addition, he was a member of several boards of directors while at KKR, including Del Monte, Dollar General, Primedia, Sealy and the Yellow Pages Group in Canada. Prior to KKR, Dean was a management consultant with The Boston Consulting Group for 15 years, serving as a Partner and head of the firm’s Chicago office.

Dean attended Purdue University, where he received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, summa cum laude. He also has an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, summa cum laude.

John Giamatteo serves as President of Cyber Security at Blackberry. Prior to his current role, John was President and CRO of McAfee, a leader in device-to-cloud cyber security solutions for large Enterprises, SMB and Consumers.

John has over 32 years of global, high-tech experience in leading and growing multinational businesses. Over the course of his successful career in technology and services, he has led teams to create a shared vision and make strategic decisions while driving operational excellence.

Prior to McAfee, John served as Chief Operating Officer of AVG Technologies, leading them to a successful IPO on NYSE in 2012. Prior to AVG Technologies, John served as president and COO of Solera, COO at RealNetworks and President Asia Pacific of Nortel Networks. At Nortel, John lived and worked in APAC for 7 years, Hong Kong and Tokyo, and was corporate vice president and general manager of various product business units.

He currently owns and operates JJG Global LLC, a real estate investment firm.

John holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from St. John’s University in Jamaica Queens, New York.

Dr. Stuart Levine joins XSELL’s Advisory Board as Chief Clinical/Medical Officer.  He is currently a Partner with Chicago Pacific Founders leading Care Model Innovation and Value Based Platforms as well as a Director at Google for Health Strategies. Dr. Levine serves on a dozen boards of health care companies.

Previously, he was the Co-Founder and Chief Medical and Innovation Officer for agilon health, a physician group and IPA platform that integrates and coordinates care in multiple geographies focusing on physician partnerships and delivering full risk care for Medicare Advantage and Medicare ACO Reach senior patients powered by advanced technology.

Prior to co-founding agilon health, Dr. Levine served as the Chief Innovation and Clinical Care Officer at Blue Shield of California where he was responsible for the ACO initiative state-wide, clinical optimization across all partner provider groups/ systems and business lines, strategic planning, medical management infrastructure development, government programs and clinical innovations for the enterprise. 

Prior to joining Blue Shield, Dr. Levine served as the Executive Vice President and Executive Medical Director for Clinical Integration and Transformation Officer at Heritage Medical Systems where he was responsible for clinical optimization and innovation across the enterprise.  In addition, Dr. Levine was responsible for putting together the joint venture between Trinity Health and Heritage Provider Group to form one of the largest integrated delivery systems in the United States.

Prior to Heritage, Dr. Levine had numerous leadership roles in some of the leading organizations in Care Model Innovation.  He served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer of Accretive Health and was the leader of the company’s physician engagement strategies, clinical quality, and Accretive Health’s Quality and Total Cost of Care and Population Health program. He also served as the Corporate Medical Director and Regional Medical Director of HealthCare Partners Medical Group of California where he was responsible for the company’s clinical-focused initiatives for 6 years, prior to and through the transition to DaVita, including company-wide clinical optimization and innovation, mergers, and acquisitions as well as corporate and regional operations including managing global capitation on all patient populations. Dr. Levine also served as the Medical Director for SCAN Health Plan for 10 years where he was responsible for all clinical operations for that HMO as well as all clinical operations for network management, provider services and contracting.

Dr. Levine initially started out his physician leadership career as the CEO of PsychCare Alliance and Topaz Health, which he grew to become the largest behavioral health medical group in the United States through a full risk and collaborative behavioral health care model.

Dr. Levine is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor for Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine as well as Stanford University School of Medicine.   Dr. Levine is a co-coordinator at the St. Mary’s UCLA Primary Care Residency and the Mission Hospital Psychiatry Residency Program.  Dr. Levine has published over 50 articles, abstracts and book chapters and presented at over 500 national and professional meetings.

Dr. Levine has spent his entire, distinguished career as a leader in the transformation of clinical care models and delivery system to outcome focused, patient-centered, cost-effective innovative care models.

Shawn Mobley joined XSELL’s Advisory Board in his capacity as Chief Commercial Officer of TurningPoint Healthcare Solutions, building on a successful career leading and growing national healthcare and health technology businesses under the UnitedHealth Group umbrella.

Shawn, who helped build the sales and go-to-market function within XSELL before joining TurningPoint, spent more than twenty years in multiple roles across UnitedHealth Group. Ultimately, Shawn had responsibility for leading revenue and growth efforts, as Chief Revenue Officer for Rally Health and Chief Growth Officer for UnitedHealthcare, respectively.

Shawn attended the University of California, Davis and currently lives in the DFW Metroplex with his wife and family. When he’s not at work, Shawn enjoys spending time in the kitchen with his family, cooking recipes from all over the world.

Mark is a global business executive with 30+ years commitment to excellence as a Senior Managing Director serving Accenture’s clients, business, and people. He enjoys industry-wide recognition as a leader in the SAP space having led the largest SAP practice in the world.

Mark was a pioneer in remote IT delivery. He grew Accenture’s Chicago SAP Solution Center from inception to 400 practitioners. Following his role in Chicago, Mark was based in Paris, France, leading the SAP Solution Centers across Europe.

In a four-year timeframe, Mark led the Global SAP Business establishing Accenture as the #1 SAP Practice in the world, growing the business to $5B in revenues and 40,000 practitioners.

As the lead for Accenture’s Technology Ecosystem, Mark managed 100+ corporate alliance partnerships and oversaw the largest platform businesses: SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle, that combined for $13B in revenues. Mark was named to Accenture’s Technology Executive Leadership Team joining just four other executives overseeing 200,000+ professionals. He spent six years on Accenture’s Global Leadership Council.

Mark stepped into an underperforming segment when he took over NA SAP, leading a hands-on turnaround to achieve two consecutive years of 30% growth for the multi-billion-dollar business, which provided the blueprint for Accenture to run its large platform businesses for the next 10 years.

Mark is a trusted steward and a respected mentor and colleague. He can shape a deal, simplify, and communicate the big picture making the hard stuff sound simple, and provide the connective tissue that brings harmony to multiple constituencies.

Mark holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and resides in Chicago with his wife and family.
